Defensive Player of the Week

Benet senior defensive back Mac Cooney

Cooney’s timely pick-six helped turned the tide in Benet’s 28-7 victory over St. Patrick. With the game tied 7-7 into the third quarter, Cooney intercepted a Zachary Fuller pass that Jack Brown first tipped and ran it back 39 yards for a TD to give the Redwings the lead for good as they won their fourth straight game. Cooney has recorded an interception in three of Benet’s first four games.
