Learn about spine surgery at Edward Hospital

-

Edward Hospital’s $63.7 million West Building addition features a new 36-bed Orthopedic & Spine Center on the 3rd floor and 24-bed Intensive Care Unit on the 4th floor.

Edward Hospital will host a free class, “Twelve Facts You Should Know about Spine Surgery,” on Tuesday, October 14, 7 – 8:30PM in the Education Center Auditorium at Edward Hospital, 801 S. Washington St. in Naperville.

Four out of five adults will experience lower back pain at some point in their life.  Most people are successfully able to treat their back problems with non-operative options.  For those who need further intervention, there are many new techniques such as minimally invasive and motion-preserving procedures with faster recovery times and less post-operative pain.

Ronjon Paul, MD, orthopedic spine surgeon with the Spine Center of DuPage Medical Group and medical director of the spine program at Edward Hospital, and Vivek Mohan, MD, orthopedic spine surgeon with the Spine Center of DuPage Medical Group and on staff at Edward Hospital, will speak about current treatments for back pain, minimally invasive surgical options and corrective surgeries for spinal deformities.

For more information about and to register for the class, call (630) 527-6363.  Online registration is available at www.edward.org/classes.

An ombudsman is Scandinavian in origin dating back to Viking times; and refers to a community representative; usually acting independently on behalf of an organization, body of elected officials, or civic group. Thanks Scandinavia for inventing ombudsman.
