Cavalcade of Homes – 10AM to 9PM | $10 -12 Ashwood Park Subdivision in Naperville (248 Ave. and 111 St.) Some of the best and most innovative new home designs will be on exhibit during the 2014 Cavalcade of Homes event. The 3-week long show is the largest in Illinois and will feature six brand new, beautifully crafted homes in the highly acclaimed community of Ashwood Park North. Tickets can be purchased for $12 at the gate and $10 online. Open Mic Night – 8PM | $5+

Shrine is a weekly showcase of the area’s best up-and-coming performers. Each show is a hilarious mix of professionals working on new material, amateur comedians working on their chops & first timers being thrown in the pool. Final Weekdays at Centennial Beach – 11AM-Dusk | Admission
Weather permitting, Centennial Beach in downtown Naperville is open daily this week, the final week of the summer season as lifeguards and families prepare to head back to school. Beginning Sat., Aug. 16, The Beach, located at 500 W. Jackson Ave., will be open weekends only until Labor Day, Mon., Sept. 1. This concert is it for 2014 summer season! The Naperville Municipal Band’s final concert, ‘Great Themes and Melodies,’ will be held at 7:30PM Thursday, Aug. 14 at the Community Concert Center, 104 E. Benton Ave. in Naperville’s Central Park. The first 1,000 audience members to arrive in Central Park will have a chance to win one of four $25 gift certificates two from the local merchant supporting that evening’s performance and two from the band. The concert raffle sponsor is Score 18 Indoor Golf and the ice cream social sponsor is Wesley United Methodist Church.

The Early Learning Playscape Grand Opening – 4:30-6:30PM | Heritage Society Members
Naper Settlement will host a special preview of the fun features of the Playscape with Naperville’s only Splash Pad.  The fort-themed playground also includes a Trading Post, Animal Track Path and many early learning experiences for youngsters. The Playscape opens to the public, weather permitting, on Fri., Aug. 15. Hours of operation and admission fees will be posted soon.
