From noon to 3PM on Sun., July 27, 95.9 The River will be hosting a summer pool party at Naperville Park District’s Centennial Beach.
Organizers wonder, “What could be better than watching your favorite 95.9 The River on-air personalities and staff members struggle to keep a cardboard boat afloat?”
To find out, during the event each of the River’s on-air personalities and select staff members will take to the water in a man-made cardboard boat during our inaugural Float Your Boat for a Cause, an event is to raise awareness for charities and non-profit organizations. The on-air personality or staff member who stays afloat the longest will reward the charity of their choice $5,000 worth of free exposure on 95.9 The River. Every other charity involved will receive $2,000 in free exposure on the station’s air waves.
Scott Mackay will craft his boat with the help of 360 Youth Services of Naperville.
Danielle Tufano will work in conjunction with the Naperville Jaycees.
Mitch Michaels will be playing for the Fisher House, to benefit families of veterans undergoing medical treatment.
Beth Reynolds will float her boat on behalf of Variety-Children’s Charity of Illinois. 95.9
The River’s Sales Team will partner up with Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of DuPage.

Listen this week as each charity begins to call in to plan with their respective 95.9 The River staff member. 95.9 The River also will invite listeners to call in with boat building tips and suggestions to ensure their favorite team wins for their charity.
Right after Float Your Boat for a Cause, the community is invited to join 95.9 The River at the Moser Tower with the 72-bell carillon for “Rockin the Tower” from 3:30PM-5:30PM. Moser Tower is located at the base of Rotary Hill along the Naperville Riverwalk.
Carillonneur, Tim Sleep, will be performing River music (Heart, Journey, Led Zeppelin, etc.) on the bells from 4-5PM. The 95.9 The River Road Crew will be out with some fun River goodies and prizes to giveaway as well.
FYI: 95.9 The River (WERV-FM) is a classic rock radio station that super serves the western suburbs of Chicagoland with music that spans from the early 1970’s through the early 1990’s and heavy community involvement.
