Sean Hastings, Go Ballistic Events Co-Founder, chose the YMCA as a nonprofit partner in this inaugural year. When you register using the code “YMCA2014” you will receive a 25 percent discount and 5 percent of your registration fee will be donated to the Y. There is also an opportunity to make a donation directly to the YMCA through the registration page.

This event aligns with the YMCA’s mission to develop strong children and families through the pillar of fitness and healthy living.

Richard Louv, author of Last Child in the Woods, coined the term “Nature Deficit Disorder” (not a medical condition). Louv says we have entered a new era of suburban sprawl that restricts outdoor play, in conjunction with a plugged-in culture that draws kids indoors. Some children adapt. Those who don’t develop the symptoms of NDD, which include attention problems, obesity, anxiety and depression.

Let’s encourage our kids to get out and play at this fun event. For more information or to register go to www.goballisticevents.com.
