Naper-Nights

Wednesday Walking Club

Join fellow walkers for this free, healthy lifestyle program held from 8 to 9AM on Wednesdays, July 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30.Choose your route through the beautiful museum grounds, with a longer circuit option along the Riverwalk. Sign in at the Pre-Emption House Tavern, log your minutes and then enjoy a healthy treat, courtesy of Reality Fitness.

Settlement Sundays

Settlement Sundays will be held from 1 to 4PM Sundays, July 6, 20 and 27. Admission includes free sundaes with do-it-yourself toppings, courtesy of Culver’s, hands-on family activities and tours of historic buildings. Ice cream is served from 2 to 3:30PM. Admission is $12 adults, $11 seniors, $8 youth (4-12), free admission for children under 4, members and Naperville residents.

Chicago Cubs Bus Trip

Join the party of the century and watch the Chicago Cubs take on the Atlanta Braves July 11 during the 100th anniversary of Wrigley Field. Leave the driving to Naper Settlement and join 55 other fans on a luxury bus trip to the historic ballpark. Enjoy reserved seats in the shade for the first Friday home game, which is dedicated to the 1960s. The first 10,000 fans will receive a Gayle Sayers bobblehead. Tickets are $80. The bus leaves at noon and returns at 8PM from the Settlement.

Naperville Woman’s Club Fine Art Fair

The 55th annual juried Naperville Woman’s Club Fine Art Fair will be held from 10AM to 5PM Saturday and Sunday, July 12 and 13 and features more than 100 artists from around the country. Visit www.napervillewomansclub.org or call (630) 420-9680. Free admission.

Naperville Ale Fest

The second annual Naperville Ale Fest will be held from 1 to 5PM Saturday, July 19, featuring over 180 unique beers from craft breweries around the country. Some of Naperville’s best restaurants and catering companies will also be in attendance. A portion of the proceeds from the festival benefit Naper Settlement and the Naperville Heritage Society. Naper Settlement is closed for the festival. Admission is $45 for those 21 and over; $15 designated driver. Purchase tickets at www.napervillealefest.com.

Naper Nights Concert Series

The Naper Nights Concert Series continues “The History of Rock” July 25-26. Bring a blanket or lawn chair for this opportunity to enjoy music under the stars. On Friday, July 25, Think Floyd brings a performance of Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety and songs from throughout the Floyd era. Gates open at 5PM. On Saturday, July 26, the gates open early at 3PM with Dead Yet Alive, a winner in the Naperville Park District’s Battle of the Bands, followed by local favorites OMT (One More Time); The Ents, who will play a tribute to Rush; and headliners ARRA, who transform into ARRivAl playing the hits, favorites and gems from Journey and friends. Tickets are $15 adults, $10 youth (4-12), free for members and children under 4. No outside food or beverages are allowed. Tickets are available at www.napernights.org.

Trades Day
Discover trades from the past to the present from 1 to 4PM Sunday, July 27. Visit with artists and tradesmen still producing goods and services, such as the blacksmith, quilter, needle felter and more. Help pump the 1874 Joe Naper Pumper firefighting apparatus at 2:30PM. Test your own crafting skills and bring home a do-it-yourself souvenir. Some activities may require a small fee. Admission is $12 adults, $11 seniors, $8 youth (4-12), free admission for children under 4, members and Naperville residents.

Camp Naper

Is your child an explorer, detective, artist or all of the above? Camp Naper has programs that put children in grades 1-8 in the center of the action. Camps are held from 9AM to 3PM through Aug. 2. One-day, two-day and weeklong camps and a three-day Civil War camp offer a wide variety of enrichment activities from art to science and more. All camps are run by professional staff. Camp fees range from $90 to $200. Call 630.420.6010 to register.
