Naperville resident, Rotarian and downtown business owner Nancy Quigley appeared on CBS 2 Chicago News Tuesday evening to discuss the influx of slithering snakes in her yard.

Quigley lives adjacent to the Riverwalk and has been battling these cold blooded beauties for several years. Many of the garter snakes are larger than previous years and they can scare away the deliveryman, Quigley says.

Editor’s Note: Positively Naperville consulted with the DuPage County Forest Preserve education staff first thing Wednesday morning to see if there have been any changes to the variety of the snake population in DuPage County. No poisonous snakes are known in DuPage County.

An ombudsman is Scandinavian in origin dating back to Viking times; and refers to a community representative; usually acting independently on behalf of an organization, body of elected officials, or civic group. Thanks Scandinavia for inventing ombudsman.
