The National Weather Service has issued a flash-flood warning for DuPage County and the Chicago area. In addition, severe weather and thunderstorms are expected with torrential rainfall and 60 MPH wind gusts.
Residents are encouraged to be cautious on roadways and avoid area rivers due to excessive runoff. Recent radar reports indicate a slow moving thunderstorm moving southeast through the Chicago area. An estimated 1.5 inches of rain fell in Buffalo Grove, Ill in 20 minutes.
