Key intersections will go dark; motorists should expect delays
Traffic signal upgrades being performed by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will affect three locations in Naperville the week of June 16. Motorists can expect traffic delays for those intersections that will be without functioning traffic signals while the work is being performed.
IDOT contractors will be replacing the signal cabinets and upgrading equipment at the following intersections:
- Monday, June 16 – Ogden Avenue and North Aurora/Raymond Drive
- Wednesday, June 18 – Ogden Avenue and River Road
- Thursday, June 19 – Ogden Avenue and Naper Boulevard/Naperville Road
The traffic lights will not be functioning and stop signs will be displayed at those intersections as traffic control while work is being performed. The work is anticipated to occur from 9 a.m. to about noon, pending weather and unforeseen circumstances.
Motorists traveling in the area should drive with caution and obey all traffic controls in place. Residents and motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes of travel whenever possible.
