The City of Naperville will welcome kindergarten students from Brookdale Elementary School on Friday, May 23 to learn more about City government and the amenities that are offered along Naperville’s iconic Riverwalk.
Approximately 90 children from three kindergarten classes will start their day by meeting with Mayor A. George Pradel at 10:30AM in Council Chambers of the Municipal Center before they head out to visit various attractions along the Riverwalk, including the Carillon Visitor Center. Working with parent assistants, students will have a listing of Riverwalk amenities that they will be asked to find and identify. They will also be treated to a story time presentation at the Nichols Public Library.
“This is a great way for students to obtain their first glimpse of what City government is and to have some fun exploring and learning about one of Naperville’s most beloved features – the Riverwalk,” Riverwalk Administrator Jan Erickson said. “Naperville is fortunate to have so many amenities near the Riverwalk that this will be a wonderful learning experience for these young students.”
Brookdale Elementary School is part of Indian Prairie School District 204.
