The Landforms sculpture was presented as a gift to the Riverwalk from the Naperville Art League in 1984.

Imagine the truth that our city was blanketed in several inches of snow on April 14, less than four weeks ago!

Back then, some folks speculated the annual tulip time along the Riverwalk might be delayed. Yet, that hasn’t been the case.

For the past 10 days the multi-colored beds of tulips have been an attractive wonder whether surrounding the red Landforms sculpture or the historic granite markers in Veterans Plaza.

And today, right on schedule, tulip beds that were in full bloom all weekend, more yellow than other years, were being emptied in preparation for the Naperville Park District annual tulip bulb sale beginning at 8AM this Fri., May 16.

The bulbs that will be for sale are from the tulips that bloomed this spring along the Riverwalk, at the top of Rotary Hill along Aurora Ave., in front of the Park District Administration Building, and in other park beds.

Bulbs from tulips that were blooming in brilliant colors along Rotary Plaza will be available in Friday’s Tulip Sale.

The cost for one dozen bulbs will be $3 based on first-come, first-served.

The tulip bulb sale will take place at the pavilion along the Riverwalk near the Park District Administration Building parking lot at 320 W. Jackson Avenue at Eagle Street. The sale typically is over quickly.
