Turning Pointe Autism Foundation will be offering a new 6-week summer course to individuals who struggle to find purpose; feel isolated; need to identify roadblocks to employment and need coping skills to manage change that comes with everyday life. Students will identify personal skills, strengths and areas of challenge. Instructors will assist students in creating goals based on the core competencies of C.O.P.E.S. ©.
Goals will be applicable to education, independent employment and/or independent living – providing a road map for next steps on their life journeys. Area school districts have identified this course as a “great opportunity to keep students engaged in academics while establishing specific goals that can be carried over into the IEP.”
The inaugural Summer C.O.P.E.S. © course is hands on and interactive with small group projects and whole group discussion.
In addition to Summer C.O.P.E.S.© registration, Turning Pointe Career College staff are also rolling out Fall 2014 Career College Admissions by conducting tours and accepting applications. Offering a low staff to student ratio, Turning Pointe Career College addresses the needs of individuals seeking guidance and instruction in Life Skills, Career Readiness and requisite Career Skills identified by our corporate Partners.
Through its partnership with companies such as Walgreens, Office Max, Dan Wolf Automotive Group and other regional businesses, the Career College utilizes a customized curriculum which affords students the opportunity to receive hands-on training in model work environments, along with teaching the life and works skills necessary for a lifelong career. 100 percent of students who have completed the required course work have been offered employment by a corporate partner.
