Shrek: The Musical – 7PM | $9
Metea Valley High School – 1801 Norh Eola Road Aurora, IL 60502
Believe All OGRE Again! The greatest fairy tale never told gets a musical makeover in this colorful production of Shrek, the musical. Based on the Dreamworks movie and featuring 60 singers and dancers and a live pit orchestra, the story follows the ogre Shrek and his lovable sidekick Donkey as they travel through swamps to rescue Princess Fiona from a Dragon-guarded tower for the ‘short’-tempered Lord Farquaad. Throw in a cast of fairy tale creatures like Pinocchio, the 3 Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf with some surprises along the way, and Shrek, the musical teaches that beautiful ain’t always pretty. It’s a hilarious show for children, teens and adults. Performances are Friday, May 2 at 7PM; Saturday, May 3 at 1PM; and Saturday, May 3 at 7PM in the MVHS Auditorium. Tickets are reserved seating and are $9. To make a reservation or ask a question, please e-mail Jessica Thomas at jessicas_thomas@ipsd.org or call the Theater Ticket Office at (630) 375-5900 ext. 8220.
