Franklin D. Roosevelt once said, “Democracy cannot succeed unless those who express their choice are prepared to choose wisely. The real safeguard of democracy, therefore, is education.”
We at NCTV17, just like Franklin D. Roosevelt and the publisher of “Positively Naperville,” believe an informed voter is the best voter which is why Naperville News 17 is bringing viewers comprehensive political coverage leading up to the primary election on March 18.
You can tune in each week for voter education stories such as, “What is a primary?” “Know your district,” and “What it takes to run for office.”
NCTV17 will also help viewers get to know the candidates running for State Representative, U.S. Representative, Forest Preserve District of DuPage County President, State Treasurer and Will County Board Representative. Through video profiles, viewers will learn about each candidate’s stance on the issues that matter to them.
Throughout the weeks leading up to the primary, our website will feature all of our Vote 2014 information in one place so we encourage viewers to check back often and learn more at: http://www.nctv17.com/ yourvote2014/index.php. We hope all residents will exercise their right to vote on March 18. In the meantime, if you have a news tip or something you would like to see covered in the community reach out to our news team atnewstips@nctv17.com.
