Spring Girls Weekend in Downtown Naperville / March 7-9 / This annual event is a great way to enjoy three days of fashion, food, friends and shopping. Friday Night Fish Fry at the Judd Kendall VFW / 5-8PM / The VFW, 908 West Jackson Avenue,  Friday Night Fish Fry will run every Friday through Good Friday, April 18. Open to the public the family-friendly Friday Night Fish Fry runs for eight weeks serving 5-8PM.  Pricing for this year is Adults $12 ea; Seniors (65+) $10 ea; and Children (10 & under) are $7 ea.

Naperville Central High School stages ‘The Foreigner’ / Come see Theatre Central’s spring play, The Foreigner, at 8 PM on Friday and Saturday, March 7 and 8. The Foreigner tells the story of Charlie Baker, a man from England who travels to a fishing lodge in Georgia with his best friend, “Froggy” LeSeuer. Charlie, who is going through an emotional crisis, has a fear of striking up conversation with strangers. Because of this, “Froggy” tells all the guests at the lodge that Charlie is a foreigner who doesn’t speak English. Once this begins, Charlie overhears many things that he shouldn’t, and gets himself into quite the mess. The Foreigner will be performed in the Naperville Central High School auditorium. Justin_tappingMaple Sugaring Days / 10AM – 4PM / Celebrate spring, while experiencing the time-honored method of collecting sap the old-fashioned way, during Maple Sugaring Days to be held from 10AM to 4PM Saturday, March 8 and from 1 to 4PM Sunday, March 9 at Naper Settlement, 523 S. Webster St., Naperville. Admission is $12 adults, $10 seniors 62+ and $8 youth 4 to 12. Naperville residents and members are free. “Chords for Kids’ / NCC presents “Chords for Kids,” a free concert for children with autism and their families, at 7PM Sat., March 8, in the College’s Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Quigley’s Irish Pub hosts Photos with the Leprechaun / 10AM-2PM / Put on your green and come for breakfast and/or lunch with plans to allow time for a complimentary (free!) family photo with the Leprechaun at Quigley’s, 43 E. Jefferson in downtown Naperville.

Naperville Winter Wine Festival at Hotel Arista / 1:30 – 4:30PM / The Naperville Winter Wine Festival is Naperville’s first international, high-end wine tasting to be held at the Hotel Arista at CityGate Centre, Rt. 59 and I88. The cost is $60 Advance / $65 at Door if Available. Purchase tickets by calling (847) 382-3270. Wine sampling ends at 4PM.  The event is for ages 21 and over. The Winter Wine Festival is presented by Calamos Wealth Management and coordinated by Vin Chicago and inPLAY EVENTS, organizers of the Naperville Wine Festival held at CityGate Centre in August. Naperville Art League Public Art Competition / 2 – 4PM / The public is invited to come and view entries in the Naperville Art League’s 10th annual public art competition. An artists’ reception is planned for Sunday, March 9 from 2 to 4PM with an award ceremony at 3:15PM at the Naperville Fine Art Center and Gallery, 508 North Center St. The “Grounds for Potential” exhibit opens on Friday, March 7 and runs through Saturday, March 14.
