Space in the 2013 Naperville Marathon races sold out in less than 14 hours, and though capacity for the 2014 races is double that of the 2013 races, organizers expect the race to sell out quickly.

Charity Program Registration for the 2014 Edward Hospital Naperville Marathon & Half Marathon opened on Monday, February 24, and continues throughout the duration of registration availability. This process has allowed runners to take advantage of a pre-registration option by selecting one of 26 program charities to which they make a fundraising commitment, and immediately are guaranteed a spot in this year’s race, in addition to other benefits.

200 runners have elected to take advantage of this option at this point, making fundraising commitments to 24 of the 26 available program charities. $293,000 was raised for local, regional, and national charities through last year’s Naperville Marathon Races Charity Program.

“All of us at Edward – our employees, physicians and volunteers – are so proud to be associated with the marathon and half marathon,” says Pam Davis, President & CEO, Edward Hospital & Health Services. “We believe this event will help create an even stronger culture of health and well being in our communities, and we plan to help build this into one of the most prestigious long distance running events in the country.”

In its 2013 inaugural event, the Naperville Marathon races quickly became one of Chicago’s premier west-suburban running events. The Marathon and Half Marathon showcase the city of Naperville, its parks, its great neighborhoods, its historic buildings, and its vibrant downtown, and draws runners from across the country. The course and its extensive volunteer and spectator support make it a favorite for all runners from first-timers to Boston hopefuls.
