Anne Meyer and Paige Casey welcome you to drop off old china and dinnerware at Occasions through March 15.

“Clean your cupboards for charity,” is the message in the window that enticed PN to venture inside Occasions, located at 121 S. Washington Street in downtown Naperville.

The specialty gift shop is a showcase of artist-inspired gifts and dinnerware ranging from whimsical, functional, spiritual and decorative items. As a way to raise awareness for Family Shelter Service, a nonprofit organization that assists women and families affected by domestic violence, Occasions is collecting old sets of dishes and serving platters for reuse and a worthy cause.

From now through March 15, folks are invited to bring in old dishes and serving platters in no-chips condition to exchange for a $100 gift card toward a $250 purchase of new dinnerware or serving pieces.

The donated dishes will be given to Family Shelter Service via Second Chance Resale Shops, as a way to help women who are setting up new homes and starting new lives as they get away from domestic violence.

Occasions original store is located in the English Rows Towne Centre in south Naperville, just south off Route 59 at 103rd Street.  Both stores are participating in “Clean your cupboards for charity.”

Hours are 10AM-5:30PM Mon. through Saturday, Thursday until 7; 11AM-4PM Sunday.
