Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce Inaugural Gala & Auction / 6 – 11PM / Join the festivities as the Chamber honors and recognizes the outgoing members of the board for their hard work and efforts under the leadership of Dr. Cathy Subber. The event also welcomes the new Chairman and newest board members who will serve as your representatives for the next three years. Veteran Education Seminar and Networking at NCC / 10AM – 1PM / This education and networking seminar is being held at North Central College for Veterans on January 25 from 10AM to 1PM. It will be held at the Student Activities Center at North Central College, 325 E. Benton in Naperville.

Activities and Presenters Include:

Ivy Lloyd and Chris Mabrito from Hines VA will be present to talk about the benefits and sign people up for VA Healthcare. There will also be information about Women Veterans Healthcare. Hines has a tremendous program for Women Veterans.

  • There will be excellent information about Financial Education.
  • The VFW and American Legion Service Officers will help with filing of claims.
  • The Yoga For Veterans Director will demonstrate Yoga and answer question.
  • Naperville Responds For Our Veterans will answer questions on Veteran construction, renovation and home repair needs.

Many volunteer opportunities will be available for all ages. Adults, teens and young people (grades 4-7) interested in becoming costumed volunteers at Naper Settlement, and prospective adult volunteers who want to assist in non-costumed positions are invited.

Come find out about training sessions and more. Other opportunities include clerical assistants, greeters and servers for Settlement Sundays, day-camp program helpers, special events logistics, floral designers with the Weed Ladies and gardeners.

OMT_at_Buddy_Guy's_Legends_2012 (1)Join OMT & Birdie Wing at Frankie’s Blue Room in downtown Naperville on Sat., Jan. 25! / 7:30-11:30PM / For years, OMT has performed during concerts at Ribfest, Last Fling, Oktoberfest, Frankie’s Blue Room, etc. OMT’s style of homegrown music, complete with covers, takes the stage again on Jan.25, this time with other well-known local musicians from Birdie Wing and surprise guests from 7.30 to 11.30PM.

Many music fans have seen Birdie Wing— Shannon Greene Robb, Lara Filip and Tommi Zender— perform during summer concerts at Arranmore Arts in Oswego. Birdie Wing will kick off the evening’s music at 7:30PM, followed by OMT at 8:45PM.
