2013 will be remembered as the year that Dog Patch took a great leap forward in our rescue mission. Teaming with Bernie Berlin from A Place To Bark, we managed through the hard work and dedication of everyone involved to adopt out over 380 dogs in a year. More than 100 cats found their new homes as well.
We are happy to report that we have made a difference in the lives of people and animals alike. Our goal for 2014 is to adopt out over 500 dogs and puppies. We believe that this is an attainable goal. Our community has come out in support of our mission in numbers stronger than we could have ever hoped. We are getting support from far and wide.
Owning a small business requires one main ingredient, Passion. My staff and I are passionate about finding these animals homes.
We also are passionate about finding your dog, cat or other critter the best possible diet and treats. And passionate about finding the best and most unique toys available. Mostly we pride ourselves on knowledge and customer service.
For instance, we love finding products like Musher’s Secret that will change your dog’s resistance toward going out in the icy snow. A thin non toxic layer on your dog’s feet will protect from salt and keep ice from forming between toes. Beats struggling to put boots on your dog, leaving the house with four boots and returning home with three.
And we have a great selection of dog coats.
Finally, I’m happy to say that my two dogs, Daisy and Abner, were joined by a third. I’m a sucker for hounds. Emma has happily joined the pack and is settling in beautifully. It’s odd to go from never wanting a dog three years ago to sharing my life with three. I guess none of us know what lies ahead.
Wishing you all the best for 2014!
