After being a part of Naperville News 17 since its inception, current anchor and producer, Jen Hannon will take on a new role to become the new Community Engagement Director, responsible for the station’s community education initiative, community programming and marketing.
Hannon’s role as producer and anchor will be filled by current NCTV news reporter Jordan Abudayyeh. Hannon started her career at NCTV17 as an intern during her senior year at North Central College. After graduating in 2007 with a degree in Broadcast Communication with a Print Journalism minor, Hannon joined the NCTV17 staff as both a news reporter and sports reporter.
Over the next couple of years, Hannon moved out of sports to become both the producer of Naperville News 17 in 2010 and the anchor in 2011.
“I have been with the news team here at NCTV17 since its inception,” said Hannon. “I’ve seen it change from Naperville Connection to Naperville News 17, we’ve celebrated 300 episodes, changed anchors, and thankfully had several set changes. Leaving the news is bittersweet as sharing Naperville’s stories will always be a part of my memory.”
Prior to working for NCTV17, Abudayyeh was an Associate Producer at WISN-TV in Milwaukee. She was also the News Director of her college station MUTV99 at Marquette University.
“News has always been my passion and I’m excited to deliver the news to Naperville,” said Abudayyeh. “I look forward to covering what’s important to the people who live in our community.”
