Naper Trivia 2014 Pop Quiz

-

The January issue of Positively Naperville features the Naper Trivia 2014 Pop Quiz, the fourth one published since PN first hit the streets in September 2001 during the Naperville Jaycees Last Fling Labor Day Parade.

From now until 11:30PM Thurs., Jan. 23 (The date in 1849 that Elizabeth Blackwell became the first woman in the U.S. to earn a medical degree.), entries will be accepted. Note: A prize will be awarded to the first as well as the last person to enter the Pop Quiz. Scores may vary very much, especially on the trick questions.

Game players need to be sure to fill out your name, e-mail and phone number. PN only will use this information to contact the winners to distribute prizes. Be sure to hit the “submit” button at the bottom of the page. You will be sent a confirmation e-mail.

Here you go. Fifty questions, multiple choice are worth two points and true/false, are worth one.

Naper 2014 Trivia Rules & Etc.

If it’s cold outside, plan to play our game! Enter to play online free of charge just for the fun of it. All ages welcome. Play as a family, a team or an individual. Just one entry per e-mail.

Simply go to www.trivia.positivelynaperville.com and find the Trivia Quiz 2014 link on the home page, not far from the link to PN’s Election & Voter’s Guide. Follow simple instructions and take the timed test that also is open book. Note that most of the answers are in this issue of the publication or are taken from back issues from 2013 and our website. Get to know how to use the “Search for Something” tool in the upper right of each page!

Each true/false question is worth 1 point. Multiple choice questions are worth 2 points each.

Players will find a mix of 50 questions, multiple choice and true or false. There are 23 questions at 1 point each and 27 questions at 2 points each for a total of 77 points. A bonus of up to 10 points will increase your score when you answer with wit and wisdom in 25 words or less, “Why did you take the 2014 PN Pop Quiz?”

An expert panel of judges will determine the winner of the bonus question.

Again, only one entry per e-mail is permitted. But you can try and try again to improve your score.

Some of the questions are trick questions, so read carefully. One of the questions is both true and/or false, so no need to ponder it too long.

Winners along with the answers will be featured in the February issue with many heartfelt greetings for Valentine’s Day.

Prizes, too!

Really nice prizes and gift certificates from Naperville businesses have been donated for PN’s trivia.

The grand prize for a perfect score or highest score is a 5 x 7 color ad space with a one-time insertion rate value of $750. Other prizes will be presented at the editor’s discretion.

The 5 x 7 ad can be used for a birthday or anniversary greeting or some other promotion with approval of the publisher/editor in the month of the winner’s choice in 2014. Some restrictions apply.

Note! The first person to complete the 2014 Quiz will win a pair of tickets to the inaugural Winter Ale Fest on Feb. 22, in Frontier Park.

Thanks for reading and playing PN’s 2014 Pop Quiz. All the answers for the open-book Pop Quiz will quickly come to mind to anyone who pays attention to the happenings in Naperville. Have fun! And be prepared for the answers to the PN Pop Quiz!

PN Ombudsman
An ombudsman is Scandinavian in origin dating back to Viking times; and refers to a community representative; usually acting independently on behalf of an organization, body of elected officials, or civic group. Thanks Scandinavia for inventing ombudsman.
