Award-winning cabaret artist and vocalist Suzanne Petri performs Feb. 9 at North Central College.

Vocalist Suzanne Petri will appear in cabaret setting at North Central College.

Petri’s performance begins at 6PM Sun., Feb. 9, in North Central College’s Madden Theatre at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave.

North Central College’s cabaret series allows patrons the opportunity to experience top talent in an intimate setting. Cocktails are available for purchase in the lobby before performances and during intermission, and patrons may bring beverages into the theatre.

Brief Bio 

From stage to TV, nightclubs to concert halls, the Jefferson Award-nominated performer has established herself as one of Chicago’s premier entertainers. Petri’s one-woman cabaret shows provide a showcase for her musical versatility, dynamic personality and eclectic songs. With material ranging from contemporary, classic standards, show tunes and the works of Coward, Jaques Brel and Piaf, Petri takes audiences on fantastic journeys of musical storytelling.

Petri has performed in some of Chicago’s top spots, including The Big House, Underground Wonder Bar, Davenport’s and Toulouse Cognac Bar. She also has been featured in numerous musical showcases and special events such as the Chicago Cabaret Professionals Gala, the Chicago Humanities Festival Noel Coward Centennial Celebration and the Broadway Millennium.

In 2000, Petri was selected as a participant in the prestigious national Cabaret Symposium working with music legends Julie Wilson and Margaret Whiting. She is also president and founder of Chicago Cabaret Professionals, which is dedicated to celebrating and promoting the art of cabaret in Chicago.
