The Park District’s annual budget is based on organizational and departmental initiatives guided by the District’s Strategic Plan and Master Plan. A draft budget was posted at www.napervilleparks.org for a 30-day public review period.

Some of the key capital initiatives planned for 2014 include the design of an indoor activity center at 1740 Quincy Ave., completion of the Knoch Knolls Nature Center and site improvements, and site remediation and improvements at Sportsman’s Park.

“The 2014 budget reflects the District’s goal to improve its programs and facilities to benefit the community’s health, wellness and enjoyment of everyday life,” said Executive Director Ray McGury in the news release. “We are pleased to continue operating from a strong financial position and to provide a great value for the community’s tax dollar,” he said.

Earlier this year, Moody’s Investor’s Service renewed the District’s Aaa bond rating, based on the District’s healthy reserve levels, favorable debt profile, and conservative revenue assumptions.
