On a recent crisp fall day in Naperville, I chose to head to Fiammé for pizza.
This trip was my first time dining there. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The smell of the pizza cooking on the wood-fired oven was delightful.
Fiammé is located at 19 N. Washington St. Hours are 11AM-10PM, Sunday to Wednesday and 11AM-1AM Thursday to Saturday.
Fiammé is dedicated to the spirit of Nepolitian-style pizza. They use the same ingredients and techniques that are used in Naples.
They make their own dough daily and allow it to rise slowly, developing a chewy yeasty flavor.
To begin, I started with the Limoncello Chicken wings, a spicy limoncello and olive oil sauce over flash fried chicken and served with pizza bread. Delicious! The combination of the olive oil and limcocello were amazing.
For the salad, we chose the Wedge—perfect size and crisp lettuce—chilled to perfection.
For the main course, I chose the Funghi Pizza—porcini mushrooms, percorino romano and basil. The pizza was cooked just to my liking—crispy! The flavor from the wood burning stove was mouthwatering. It had a light char and every bite was better than the one before.
Most of the items on their menu can be prepared gluten free.
Please stop in and see them the next time you want to escape to Naples right here in our backyard and tell them Jack sent you!
