Ed’s Many Hats – Here I go again!

Snowbirds… On your mark… Get set… GO!

Forty-eight hours later, after spending an evening in Adairsville, Georgia. in a Motel 6 with the light left on, we’ll be pulling into beautiful Sarasota, Florida.

November is one of my least favorite months—mainly because it’s the month that forces me to leave Thrillville. Other reasons include coats, gloves, boots, stocking hats, ear muffs and snow pants.

I love Naperville tee’s from Oswald’s and shorts from Bass Pro Shop that I wear all summer long.

November’s the month your tongue will stick to the flag pole if you’re not careful.

Still, October is by far my favorite month. There is nothing more exciting than seeing the first sugar maple lead the parade toward the changing landscape of bright beautiful colors.

October also ushers in many wonderful things to do such as hay rides, apple picking, tailgates, walks in Green Valley Forest Preserve, bike rides along the mighty DuPage River, and lounging on the patio in late afternoon with an Old Milwaukee Light as the lazy autumn sun sets on a perfect day. It just doesn’t get any better.

November is a party pooper.

Our trip south starts two weeks before we leave. In addition to making a list of things to do before we leave, we also start a pile of stuff in the garage of things we must not forget.

Seeing the “Florida” pile, dog Chance senses something is up and gets excited for the road trip. Murphy, the invisible cat, also gets a sense that “stuff is about to hit the wall” in his life and looks for a place to hide. He hates the trip as much as Chance loves it.

Once back in Panther Ridge, he loves it. New game to chase and slap around.

Have a nice winter. Adios, y’all.
