The Art of Connecting – Experience talents

-

I love this time of year. Not only for the weather (and football), but because I get to write about all of the wonderful things going on in the community as well as in the schools.

haselhorstNaperville has so many talented students in drama, theatre and the arts. I thought I should just mention a few events coming up at the local high schools. I remember being excited every time I saw a big crowd from the stage. I am sure the students today still get a rush from a packed house.

Naperville Central is having its choral concert at 7:30PM on Thurs., Oct. 17. In addition, Naperville North will be having its Fall Choral Concert at 7PM on Tues., Oct. 22. There are a lot of delightful concerts and performances that go unnoticed. Try to support the schools and communities by coming out to one of them.

Another way to see these talented students perform in a different venue is at special events. For instance, musical entertainment will be provided by local award-winning high school choral groups at this year’s “Soup’s On” fundraiser hosted by the Rotary Club of Naperville. At this event you can enjoy an array of delicious foods and desserts from more than 20 of the area’s restaurants while helping to support local families in need of food and shelter.

The 2013 Soup’s On will be held from 11:30AM until 4:30PM on Sun., Oct. 20, at Naperville Central High School. Proceeds will benefit Loaves & Fishes Community Pantry, Hesed House, DuPage PADS, and The Rotary Club of Naperville Charities. For information about tickets and pricing visit www.SoupsOnRotary.com. (Football coverage will be available for sports fans.)

Try to get out and explore not just the large gatherings or fundraisers, but also the less advertised events where you can experience even more of the artistic talent Naperville has to offer. I am sure you will be surprised!
