The first Naperville Area Homeowners Confederation monthly meeting of the new program year begins on Saturday morning, September 21 at 8 AM, for coffee and networking, in meeting rooms B&C of the Naperville Municipal Center.
Gina Herrmann, Director of Career203, and Dan Bridges, Superintendent of School District 203, will speak about Career203, the District’s innovative new program for teacher compensation and professional development.
Naperville Community Unit District 203 is one of a handful of school districts nationwide that has changed the concept and the salary structure for teachers’ professional development to allow for broader educational opportunities and flexibility; with the goal of bringing that knowledge directly to bear in the classroom and district curriculum. The concept of offering a number of “career paths” and “bricks” for teachers marks a new era for District 203 teachers.
Guest speakers will also bring attendees up to date on Future Focus, District 203’s community outreach effort, and their progress with implementing the Common Core State Standards. Their will be an interesting discussion on new trends in the business of education and how local tax dollars are spent.
Coffee and networking for this meeting will be sponsored by Vanguard Community Management. The meeting will end promptly at 10AM.
