The Naperville Central High School Band Boosters will hold its Alumni Hall of Fame Auction/Dinner on Wed., Nov. 27, at the Abbington Banquet Hall in Glen Ellyn.
The special fundraising dinner is open to all Naperville Central High School band alumni. Tickets are $95 each. Organizers urge band alumni to save the date.
According to Tiffany Letcher, the Alumni Hall of Fame Dinner will honor individuals for Educator of the Year, Performance Professional of the Year, Top Community Activist of the Year and Lifetime Achievement.
“DJ Alstadt (NCHS Band Director) and Paul DeKruiff (BBA President) are excited to be hosting this event to honor our past alumni and partners in the community who have continued to sponsor or participate in Naperville Central High School Band,” Letcher said.
What band boosters boost
The NCHS Band Boosters host the annual “Marching Classic,” that will be held this year on Oct. 5 on the campus of Benedictine University in Lisle. The popular event attracts a large number of participating bands from throughout Illinois.
Additionally, the volunteer organization publishes a quarterly newsletter; designs and maintains the band’s website; and notifies local media of band activities and achievements.
When funding is available, the Band Booster Association also sponsors a limited number of partial scholarships for band students enrolled at Naperville Central High School.
In addition to raising funds for the NCHS band programs, the Band Boosters provide financial aid to hire clinicians, buy equipment and instruments for various ensembles such as Concert Ensembles, Jazz Ensembles, Chamber Ensembles, “Drumshow,” “Solo and Ensemble Extravaganza,” Spirits (color guard), Marching Band, etc.
Did you know? The Naperville Central High School Band Booster Association is recognized as a not-for-profit organization under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Service.
