UPDATE: Oct. 2 / Singing for Seniors producer Gary Leavenworth addressed City Council during Public Forum during its first meeting of the month on Tuesday evening to remind folks 55-plus about the entertaining concert scheduled to begin at 3PM Sun., Oct. 6, at the Compass Church. The concert is free of charge. No tickets necessary.
Get set for a good toe-tapping time!
The 14th annual Singing for Seniors will be staged at 3PM on Sunday, October 6, at The Compass Church.
Seniors are invited to sit back, relax and enjoy an afternoon concert designed just for them.
Show producers promise 90-minutes of memorable music and entertainment featuring TNT, a powerful classic big band performing songs of the 1940s, 50s and 60s.
In addition, Singing for Seniors is delighted to host a reprise of the Naperville Men’s Glee Club Voices of Hope chorus. The Glee Club formed the volunteer chorus of men and women as a 25th anniversary community service project to bring the power and inspiration of music to individuals affected by cancer.
A few other musical surprises are planned, including a performance from the 2013 Singing for Seniors Performance Scholarship winner, Emily Palmeri, a student at Waubonsie Valley High School.
Singing for Seniors is a free event for people 55 and better. Free transportation is available for Naperville residents in need of a ride. It’s open seating, so no tickets are necessary.
The Compass Church, located at 1551 E. Hobson Rd., offers ample parking and is handicap accessible.
For group reservations or to arrange free transportation, call (630) 343-9818 or visit www.SingingForSeniors.org.
Congratulations, Singing for Seniors!
Editor’s Note: Congratulations to Singing for Seniors producer Gary Leavenworth. In August, Leavenworth was recognized with a Community Service Award from the Main Street Organization of Realtors for his ongoing concert series.
Thanks to Leavenworth and his organization, seniors (55-plus) have been enjoying free concerts with exceptional entertainment orchestrated just for them for 14 years and seniors in high school now can apply for the Singing for Seniors scholarship.
