Editor’s Note: Kick off Naperville’s Public Safety Month from 11AM-2PM, Sat., Oct. 5. at 1380 Aurora Avenue. The family-friendly event offers an array of educational activities for all ages. Play it safely every day.
Then just two days later, Mayor A. George Pradel, and Chief Robert W. Marshall, will recognize the students whose artwork appears on the 2013-2014 Crime Prevention Calendar, at 6:30PM on Mon., Oct. 7, in City Council Chambers.
Produced for the 27th year by the Naperville Police Department, the calendar again received major sponsorship from the Exchange Club of Naperville. The Exchange Club also hosts Ribfest and the September 11 Observance.
Naperville Junior Woman’s Club, CrimeStoppers and area schools also help sponsor the calendar project, which is distributed free of charge to local elementary school students in Districts 203 and 204 as well as five parochial schools in Naperville.

The Crime Prevention Calendar project is a community service project that involves many facets of the community working together: schools, government, the police department, and community organizations. This year, approximately 28,000 calendars were produced and delivered to the schools during the first week of classes.
