Hello, Naperville –
Allow me to introduce myself. I am Erika Wood, Executive Director of the YMCA Safe ‘n Sound. I have been a resident of Naperville for more than 12 years and have worked for the YMCA professionally for 24 years. I have had the great privilege of providing leadership to the Y Safe ‘n Sound for one year now.
The Y Safe ‘n Sound program has been providing Out of School Time programming for more than 25 years in the Naperville community, nurturing potential and exercising imagination in the students of Naperville. Our goal for the upcoming 2013/2014 is to provide a youth-centered curriculum that integrates academic learning with fun, experiential learning, fueled by imagination and enthusiasm of the children in our program.
For the upcoming school year we will continue to support the children on Character Development and Healthy Living. New for the school year, we are looking forward to implementing curriculum around Literacy and Science.
Through Literacy we want to continue to support each child’s love of reading and explore the world outside of school. Through Science we want to provide fun hands on activities which support each child’s problem solving skills and fuel their imagination.

We are conveniently located in most Naperville District 203 and Indian Prairie School District 204 schools. As a leader in youth development, the YMCA understands the importance of providing our children a balance of academically rich activities as well as an enhanced focus on overall physical well-being.
