Jake and Elwood star in ‘The Official Blues Brothers Revue’ Oct. 5 at NCC

-

Dan Aykroyd, Judy Belushi Pisano and musical director Paul Shaffer present “The Official Blues Brother Revue” Oct. 5 at North Central College.

Blues-Brothers-Main-(1)The performance begins at 8PM Saturday, Oct. 5, in North Central College’s Pfeiffer Hall, 310 E. Benton Ave. Tickets are $35, $30 and $20; and may be purchased by calling the NCC Box Office at 630-637-SHOW (7469) or online at northcentralcollege.edu/showtix.

The “Official Blues Brothers™ Revue,” featuring Wayne Catania and Kierom Lafferty as Jake and Elwood, recreates the live concert experience, integrating the humor and songs from the original 1980 film, “The Blues Brothers.” The film starred Aykroyd and the late John Belushi in an expansion of characters they created as cast members on “Saturday Night Live.”

“Kieron and Wayne are not imitators,” Pisano says. “They live the music and embody those characters. They understand the soul of the Blues Brothers and revel in the joy in being Jake and Elwood.”

This live concert show pays homage to Chicago’s rich history of blues, gospel and soul music in the true spirit of the original Blues Brothers. With such Blues Brothers classics such as “Soul Man,” “Rubber Biscuit,” “Sweet Home Chicago,” “Gimme Some Lovin’” and others, Jake and Elwood together with the band hit the right balance of humor, music and mayhem.

Since the film’s debut in 1980, the Blues Brothers have catapulted into a cultural phenomenon and musical, comedic and cinematic legend. Upbeat and uplifting, The Official Blues Brothers™ Revue is fun for all ages.

The Chicago Sun-Times calls “The Official Blues Brothers Revue” “infectious and unbridled energy … it blows the roof off.”

This upcoming performance is among many ongoing programs at North Central College to enrich and broaden the cultural and academic outlook for the College and community.
