Exchange Happenings – Celebrate family, community and country

-

Shortly after Ribfest 2013, seven members of the Exchange Club of Naperville traveled to the National Exchange Club Convention in Greensboro, NC. At this year’s convention, Jennifer Cavalier, 2012-2013 Exchange Club of Naperville President, was honored with the Distinguished Club President Award. This is a highly prestigious award, not easily earned. The Club also received the Big E Award for all of the projects they completed during the year.

Emy TrotzThe National Exchange Club – a service organization with 700 clubs and more than 20,000 members throughout the United States and Puerto Rico – celebrated its 100th anniversary  in  2011.  Founded  in 1911 in Detroit by business leaders who wanted to “exchange” ideas on making  their  community better, the Exchange Club moved its headquarters to Toledo in 1917.

Its core values – Family, Community and Country — are held by each Exchange member with pride and  commitment.  For  over one hundred years, Exchange Club volunteer  efforts  have  supported the  needs  of  the  country   and  of local communities, making it the country’s oldest American service organization operating  exclusively in this country.

Guests are always welcome to join us for a luncheon meeting on the first and third Fridays at noon at Hugo’s Frog Pond.  We welcome your interest in our club as we’re always seeking new members who embrace our mission.

On another subject, Ribfest, I would like to thank all of the many sponsors, volunteers and club members for putting on such a successful event. Now planning begins for Ribfest 2014.
