Providing the basic needs of those less fortunate in the Naperville community, the Rotary Club of Naperville and the Naperville Rotary Charities will distribute $65,000 to 14 nonprofit organization this fall, 2012-1013 President of the Rotary Club of Naperville Frank Slocumb announced.
“It is the purpose of these grants to support programs that provide very vulnerable populations with access to basic humanitarians needs including health, safety, security and well-being in our community,” said Slocumb who recently turned the leadership of the club over to Liz Zienty for the 2013-14 Rotary year.
Since 1995, the Rotary Club of Naperville and Naperville Rotary Charities together have provided over $1,100,000 in grants to local agencies offering humanitarian services. This year, the Rotary Club of Naperville distributed more than $65,000 to 14 community service and nonprofit organizations. Current grants will support essential services for children, teens and the elderly as well as the homeless and those with special needs – fulfilling this year’s theme for Rotary “Engage Rotary – Impact Lives.”

- YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago
“The grant review process was led by Jason Altenbern, Brien Nagle and Donna Dziedzic, and all have done a wonderful job of coordinating the application review and selection process,” added Slocumb.
Background: Founded in 1941, the Rotary Club of Naperville has provided service to our community by helping others for 72 years.
