Michelle Senger and Eric Senger joined their mother, State Rep. Darlene Senger, as she launched her campaign for Congress from the steps of the Naperville Municipal Center.

Known for her strong commitment to public service and community involvement, the 20-year Naperville resident reflected on her record of service beginning as a PTA mom and her affiliation with the Naperville Area Homeowner’s Association, to serving on the Naperville City Council and now in the Illinois State Legislature.

After an introduction by Naperville Township Supervisor Rachel Ossyra, Senger addressed the gathering of family, friends and elected officials.

After brief remarks, Rep. Darlene Senger posed for photos with Naperville Township Republicans.

“Only through change in Washington and by changing our congressman, will we be able to restore hope and opportunity. We are the sum of our experiences,” said Senger to a group of 30 supporters who had gathered to applaud her decision. “My over 20 years of service to our community on behalf of taxpayers, families, and seniors has given me insight into the concerns, challenges and issues we all face.”

Senger added that her deep community roots and broad range of experiences serving others has led her to understand that common sense and understanding the real needs of others is the only way to truly find workable solutions to challenges we face here at home.

Mindful of the world-class technology corridor in the 11th District, Senger said when elected to Congress she will focus on creating more good paying jobs here at home, reducing government waste, and protecting Social Security 100 percent, all while improving educational opportunities.

Senger is a graduate of Purdue University and received her MBA from DePaul University.
