Registration now open for 9th annual Run 4 Home – 10K & 5K Run, 5K Walk
DuPagePads is calling all walkers and runners, individuals and families to the 9th Annual Run 4 Home on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 8AM, beginning at 703 W. Liberty in Wheaton. The new 10K and 5K CARA approved course will appeal to serious runners, casual joggers and walkers.
Fundraising for this event will help provide critical support services to individuals and families who are homeless in DuPage County. DuPagePads believes everyone should have a place to call “home.” Open 365 days a year, the agency’s solution to ending homelessness is providing housing, coupled with support services and employment.
“Homelessness is a community issue and yet, many people living in DuPage County are unaware that there is a homeless population,” said Carol Simler, Executive Director of DuPagePads. “Last year, we served 1,398 individuals, 236 children and 138 families. We have also seen a 39 percent increase in the number of children from last year. We know we have the solution to end homelessness and we count on events like this and generous individuals and organizations to help us as we End Homelessness One Step at a Time!”
The entire community is invited to come and support DuPagePads mission to end homelessness. Individual runners, families, groups of friends, companies, clubs and congregations are all encouraged to participate.
