-

In times like these, when much of the world is at war or in dire financial straits, we look to certain people or events to lift our spirits and tell us everything is going to be alright. One of those events is the Rockin’ For The Troops concert that is happening on July 20 at Cantigny Park in Wheaton, and one of those people is headliner Ronnie Dunn.

operation support our troopsRockin’ For The Troops is an event established by a non-profit organization called Operation Support Our Troops – America, which is celebrating its 10th year of service. In 2003, OSOT – America started by sending care packages to troops in harm’s way, since then they have evolved enough to offer programs and support to military families nationwide.

This year, OSOT – America has asked Ronnie Dunn to host their Rockin’ For The Troops event, which is now in its eighth year. As part of the enormously popular country music duo Brooks & Dunn, he has sold over 30 million records and has had 20 No. 1 singles. Brooks & Dunn have won more Country Music Association (CMA) and Academy of Country Music (ACM) awards than any act in country music history.

While in college in Avoca, Texas, Ronnie Dunn served as a music and youth minister. So aside from writing some of country music’s biggest hits, charitable work, patriotism, and a sincere concern for others are the very fabric that constructs this heartland hero.
