The Y – Fry YMCA offers Kindergarten Enrichment Program

-

Earlier this year the Fry YMCA unveiled a new wing dedicated to young children and families. A family lounge, family locker room, two classrooms and a warming kitchen opened in February.

We are now taking registration for the 2013-14 school year. New this year is a Kindergarten Enrichment Program. This program is geared toward students who attend kindergarten for ½ day in the morning. Transportation, a catered healthy lunch, extended curriculum and recreation time will be included until 3PM.

For working parents, children can remain in the program up until 6PM. A weekly swim lesson, Spanish, music and art also are featured as well as gym time to help keep children active and fit.

Several new options for preschool and prekindergarten also have been added, including 5-day and extended day options.

These programs are currently going through licensing with the Department of Children and family services. Catered lunches and snacks will be provided and will feature fresh fruits and vegetables and organic products.

At the Y, we believe the values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for quality of life and future success. That’s why our child care programs are staffed with people who understand the cognitive, physical and social development of kids, the need children have to feel connected and supported in trying new things, and the caring and reinforcement parents and families need to help each other. At the Y, preschoolers experience early literacy and learn about their world. Most importantly, children learn how to be their best selves. That makes for confident kids today and contributing and engaged adults tomorrow.
