Updated on July 28, 3013...Rough grooved surfaces, uneven pavement and well-marked bumps create additional reasons to drive carefully and slowly along Rickert Road while crews resurface the by-pass. Note that some sections of the sidewalks also are under construction.

Work expected to be completed by September

city of naperville squareThe City of Naperville informs residents and motorists that resurfacing on Rickert Drive from Ogden Ave. to 75th St. began on Wednesday, June 26. The resurfacing work will result in intermittent lane closures that will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route to avoid delays along the stretch of road that is slated for completion in September.

The City will take necessary steps to minimize any inconvenience to area residents, businesses and motorists. The public is encouraged to utilize message boards displaying up-to-date information about the project that will be placed near Rickert Dr. In addition, information will be available through the “Construction Alerts” section on the homepage of the City’s website as well as www.naperville.il.us/mip.aspx.

The City of Naperville received a grant through the Federal Surface Transportation Program to fund 50 percent of the estimated total $985,000 project cost.

The resurfacing project on Rickert Dr. is part of the City’s annual Roadway Resurfacing Program, which includes resurfacing and reconstruction of roads in City subdivisions and a few of the City’s major roadways.

As with any construction project, the City of Naperville would like to remind motorists to stay alert, use caution and abide by all traffic regulations when driving through construction zones. For safe driving tips in construction zones, visit www.naperville.il.us/constructionsafety.aspx.
