Heart healthy food samples, glucose testing and prevention information will be presented
Studies show more than half of all Americans will have diabetes or prediabetes by the year 2020. In an effort to educate the community about diabetes, Oswald’s Pharmacy located in Naperville Plaza, is hosting its fourth annual Diabetes Day on June 15 between 9 and 2PM. The event is for anyone currently living with diabetes, family members living with a diabetic, or those looking to prevent diabetes.
Bill Anderson, owner of Oswald’s said, “We know that diabetes can be an extremely debilitating disease if gone untreated. That’s why we host this event. To help those at risk learn what steps they can take to prevent the disease. Further, we also like to let those currently living with diabetes t know that we offer plenty of support for them.”
Oswald’s carries a great selection of diabetic shoes, meters, strips and accessories including socks to support their diabetic customers. Further, their pharmacists are always available to answer any questions regarding medication and prescriptions.
Debbie Paulus, coordinator of the event reminds us that this event is for families. “When diabetes strikes someone, it affects the whole family. Our goal for this event is to raise awareness about the causes of diabetes and how families at risk can prevent the disease. For diabetics, we want to share how we support our diabetic customers with diabetic aids and in-store support.”
Oswald’s is located in Naperville Plaza, at the southwest corner of Washington and Gartner, and has been serving the Naperville community since 1875.
