With the official arrival of summer in Naperville, your local television station will be out and about covering many of the wonderful community events that make Naperville a great place to live as well as premiering several new shows on the channel. Here’s just a sampling of what’s in store when you tune in to Channel 17 this month or view us online via simultaneous live streaming at NCTV17.com.
Kicking off the month NCTV17 will be premiering a new Naperville Notables. A dedicated teacher, community contributor and founder of Little Friends, Inc. Dottee Krejci has given her heart and soul to making sure every child finds Naperville a great place to learn. In the third episode of this occasional series, Liz sits down and talks with Dottee about her remarkable life.
Then at 7:30PM on Thurs., June 6, NCTV17 will be broadcasting the Naperville Municipal Band’s first summer concert “Curtain Up,” LIVE from the Naperville Community Concert Center. You can join Ron Keller and the band on Channel 17 throughout the summer for their Thursday night concerts.
Also on June 6, Kandiss Hernandez and Fair Lady Productions, Inc. will host the second annual Fair Lady Award designed to acknowledge a business women who has made a difference in Naperville through her contribution and commitment to community arts organizations. This year’s recipient is none other than Stephanie Penick, founder and publisher of Positively Naperville! NCTV17 will be re-broadcasting the event starting at 9:30PM on Tues., June 11.
On Sat., June 8, NCTV17 will be broadcasting North Central College’s graduation ceremony LIVE from the Residential/Recreation Center. Among those receiving their diplomas are NCTV17 interns Patrick Cummings and Rebekah Thurston and reporter Whitney Goodbred.
And then to wrap up the 2012-13 high school athletic season, Naperville Sports Weekly will premiere an award show featuring the top plays, teams and athletes as voted on by NSW producers and videographers. Tune in at 6:30PM on Sun., June 16, for an exciting look back at this year’s memorable moments.
