Ribfest is always a special time for our family. When you can combine family, food, and music at one event, we’ll be there every time.
As I mentioned in a previous column, Styx is a band that doubles as music and family for my tribe, but by no means does the talent coming to this year’’s Ribfest end there. In fact, I have a feeling Ribfest might see its biggest crowd of rib and riff hungry fans yet.
When I heard the announcement that ex-Guns ‘N’ Roses guitarist Slash was playing this year’’s Ribfest on July 5, I immediately started to envision things. I saw that infamous top hat resting atop those long black curls. I could definitely see his doing some of those Guns ‘N’ Roses songs that made him the guitar hero he is today.
But the clearest vision I had was of the main gate. I could see late arriving folks being greeted by the bad news of a capacity crowd. Ribfest has seen capacity a few times before, but I want to go on record and predict that this very special evening with Slash and his band will reach capacity faster than anything that has come before it. My advice: don’t miss a legend, get your tickets now!
Other Ribfest acts include rising American Idol star Casey James on July 4, 80’s rock favorite Rick Springfield on July 6, and Rock and Roll Hall Of Famers Lynyrd Skynyrd on July 7.
You can see the entire lineup of music acts on the official Ribfest website at www.ribfest.net.
Again, I really think this Ribfest date with Slash is going to be abnormally huge. Folks! Buy tickets early!
Editor’s Note: If by chance, you’re reading this column during the Stanley Cup Final, take a break between Blackhawk cheers and purchase Ribfest tickets. Thanks!
