Ticks are really bad already. I’ve been pulling them off my dogs, Daisy and Abner, for a couple of weeks. There are many ways to prevent the scourge of these pesky parasites. We are big fans of Frontline Plus. It just seems to work. We sell many natural products as well.
My personal favorite is the multi-use bug spray called Flea and Tick Kicker by Ark Naturals. It keeps me and my dogs bug free all summer. Just spray and go. Works great for mosquitoes, too.
I can’t stress enough how important it is to give your dog heart worm preventative. Having had a dog with heart worm I can tell you how hard it can be on the dog and just how expensive it can be for you. Monthly treatments can save you a lot of money and your dog’s life.
Finally, a couple of things I need to mention. Please keep fresh water available for your pets at all times. As it warms up they need fresh water as much as you do. Also, please do not leave your pets in a hot car. The temperature outside is a fraction of what it is inside a closed car. Just a couple of minutes can kill your pet. Please just use your head.
