NaperBridge, in partnership with the Naperville Park District, presents “Your Summer to Connect,” a trio of events for Naperville high school students. The events take place once a month throughout the summer of 2013.
On June 4 students can attend a battle of student DJ’s at “Battle of the Bass.” On July 16 popular high school band, Bro Spice, takes the stage for a concert. On August 13 there will be a Comedy Cage Match, improv comedy show. All events will be held at the Park District’s Barn Recreation Center located at 421 W. Martin Ave.
Students can also win prizes by participating in an Instagram contest throughout the summer. Using the hashtag #naperbridge students snap photos of how they are spending their summer around Naperville and post them on their Instagram feeds.
At the end of each week a winner will be announced and a prize awarded. The events are a safe place for teens to connect with Naperville and each other during the summer. The goal of NaperBridge is to facilitate positive and fun events so that students can have a worry free, good time with friends and peers.
NaperBridge Executive Director, Andy Jack, credits the NaperBridge Student Advisory Board for the summer programming. “Our teens have done an inspiring job of taking this summer’s programming from the brainstorming phase all the way to lining up the talent and promoting ticket sales. What makes these events so unique is that they are created by teens for teens!”
Tickets for the events will be available at the Park District office (320 W. Jackson) or NaperBridge website. Tickets are $3 when purchased before the event or $5 at the door. Limited tickets are available.
