Centennial Beach is preparing for its season opener on May 25

-

beach-web-DSC_5395Naperville Park District staff has returned to the task of cleaning and refilling Centennial Beach in preparation for the 2013 Beach season. The District anticipates being able to open the Beach as planned on Saturday, May 25 during Memorial Day weekend.

Centennial Beach memberships are now on sale and those who purchase now through May 13 will enjoy a discounted price. Beach memberships are by far the best value for those who plan to visit several times during the summer.

Beach memberships may be renewed online or by mail. New memberships can be purchased at Park District’s Administration Building at 320 W. Jackson Avenue, or the 95th Street Center at 2244 W. 95th Street.

Longtime resident Pat Benton said he already has stopped by the Park District office to pick up his Centennial Beach pass for the 2013 season.

Benton could see the Beach filling up in the background and was amused when the clerk referenced the recent April rains that had flooded the area.

“God filled the Beach in five hours and it will take the Park District six days,” she said from across the counter.
