Things to do around Naperville this weekend

-

It’s going to be a fun weekend with the Kentucky Derby and Cinco De Mayo. The Naperville Police in conjunction with the Illinois Department Division of Traffic Safety will conduct a nighttime Cinco De Mayo Enforcement Campaign throughout the weekend.

The emphasis of this enforcement campaign is to locate; arrest and or ticket impaired drivers and seat belt violators. Enforcement efforts will be stepped up by deploying more officers onto the streets of the city. The goal is to make sure impaired drivers are off the road and motorists are buckled up. Motorist should follow these tips:

  • Have a sober, designated driver set up before leaving home, and give him or her, the car keys.
  • Do not let friends or relatives drive impaired; call a taxi, a sober friend or a relative.
  • If you come across a driver that appears to be impaired promptly call law enforcement.
  • Always wear your seat belt and make sure that everyone in your vehicle is also buckled up.

Everyone is encouraged to Celebrate Safe, Celebrate Sober!
