Real News – Healthy Homes = Healthy Businesses (real estate)

-

By the time this article is published, a thousand volunteers will have participated in the Rebuilding Together event in western DuPage County. The event is attracting hundreds of Napervillians, others from the greater Naperville area, and many of my work colleagues.

decruiff_webThe local chapter of Rebuilding Together, now celebrating its 20th year, organized the first-ever Community Block Build. This home revitalization event was held on April 26 and 27 in the Patterson neighborhood in Aurora.

The mission of Rebuilding Together extends beyond the four walls of a home to impact the health and vibrancy of our communities. Making healthy communities is achieved by creating quality businesses, schools, community amenities and homes that attract residents and families.

And often, it is that home, specifically the pride of ownership, which stabilizes neighborhoods and is the foundation for business growth and commercial real estate investment. All of these efforts result in the highest quality of life for individuals, including those who offer that helping hand.

For more information about upcoming initiatives and ways to help, visit www.rebuildingtogether.org.

And you’ll see why their organizers promote their eff orts by saying, “Home by Home, Block by Block, entire communities are transformed.”

Finally, I’m always looking for enlightening “Real News” stories about real estate and commercial properties and how they fit into the balance of a strong community. If you have a tip, contact me.
