The Naperville Woman’s Club 54th Juried Fine Art Fair returns July 13 and 14 to the beautiful grounds of Naper Settlement.
More than 100 local and national artists will be selling, displaying and demonstrating their incredible art, nestled under the large old trees amid the landscaped gardens and historic buildings at the outdoor history museum.
Admission to Naper Settlement and the Art Fair is free. Hours again are 10AM to 5PM both Saturday and Sunday.
The Naperville Woman’s Club Art Fair has the distinction of being the longest running Art Fair in Illinois; plus, the juried show has something for everyone. As the Naperville Woman’s Club largest fund raiser, proceeds from the event are donated toward an Art Scholarship at North Central College as well as other local charitable organizations. A portion of funds raised also help maintain and preserve The Naperville Woman’s Club building, located at 14 S. Washington St. in downtown Naperville.
Many forms of award-winning art will be featured for sale, including glass, ceramics, painting, print making, jewelry, fiber, wood, photography and sculpture. Some artists will be performing live demonstrations of their methods as well.
A family fun event, organizers promise enjoyment for all ages. For instance, the NWC Fine Art Fair features a ‘Petite Picasso’ tent, sponsored by Blicks Art Materials and Clayspace Studios, where children can create their own ‘Master Piece’ and take home a ribbon!
A ‘Silent Auction’ features works donated by the artists participating, located in the air-conditioned, ‘Meeting House’ near the South Entrance to Naper Settlement. Here you can put in a bid to win your favorite piece of artwork or jewelry-winners need not be present to win, the Woman’s Club will notify the winning bidders at the end of the auction.
The event also features an Empty Bowl’s fundraiser with ceramic bowls created by the artists of ‘Clayspace Studio’ in Warrenville. Proceeds from purchases at the ‘Empty Bowl’s’ tent and ‘Silent Auction’ are donated to local food pantries.
Entertainment featured at the Naperville Woman’s Club Art Fair will include ‘Project Inclusion Ensemble’ from the Chicago Sinfonietta on Sunday beginning at 1PM. Entertainment on Saturday will be announced as the date approaches.
Naper Settlement is located along Aurora Ave. at Webster St.
