This month took me around the corner from my house to Casey’s Foods for their outdoor BBQ.
You can always tell when Naperville’s baseball season opens …. so does the BBQ at Casey’s where they even have picnic tables if you want to sit down.
You can smell the BBQ all the way over coming up Gartner.
Lunch at Casey’s is by far one of my favorite Saturday traditions with my mom.
Casey’s has a variety of fresh meat grilled every Saturday and Sunday from 11AM-2PM. They have Hot Dogs, Brats, Polish Sausage, Chicken Sandwich and Skirt Steak Tacos—and weekly specials.
When we went, my mom had the brat with fresh onions and ketchup. She said it was cooked to perfection and was very juicy.
I had chosen a Casey’s known favorite, the skirt steak tacos. The skirt steak also was grilled to perfection and had fresh green peppers, onions and was full of flavors.
This lunch idea is a quick and very good way to eat on the run before or after your baseball game. Your mom and dad can eat and even do some shopping while they are there at Casey’s extensive butcher shop. Casey’s Foods is located in the Naperville Plaza, near Oswald’s Pharmacy and lots of other independent businesses on the southwest corner of Gartner at Washington streets.
Remember to stop any Saturday or Sunday from now until the weather turns cold again in the fall… And tell them the Foodie Jack sent you. Happy eating!
