The lights will go out at 8PM, when the restaurant will begin serving a three-course sustainable supper comprised of ingredients sourced from local farms.
The goal of Earth Hour is to set aside one hour every year to work on creating a sustainable future for the planet. SugarToad will be setting aside two hours, between 8PM and 10PM.
Brett Thomas, Marketing Manager of Calamos Family Partners said, “For our guests, this is a great opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to saving the planet while also enjoying a pleasant candlelight dinner with friends and loved ones.”
The three-course meal is available for $40 and begins with the Chef’s Garden (Ohio) Organic Mixed Green Salad. Vegetables from Genesis Farms in Illinois will be featured over wintered root vegetables roasted with bacon lardoons from Slagel Farms, also in Illinois.
The next course will consist of Farm Raised Wisconsin Brook Trout with mushroom ragout from Monterey Farms in Illinois along with Chicago Indoor snow peas and crispy potato croquettes from Bushman Farms in Illinois.
Finally, guests will conclude their sustainable meal with a Local 2012 Summer Preserved Fruit Ice Cream including sugar cookies and fruit jelly sauce sourced from the area.
